Our community was privileged to participate in an amazing milestone as our precious and beloved Rabbi Klein made a siyum ha'shas, completed the entire Talmud at the conclusion of the 9am minyan Shabbat morning. Rabbi Klein explained that his siyum was in the memory of the 6 million martyrs of the Holocaust, particularly his family members who lost their lives. Their memories propelled him each and every day to continue to study and turn the pages until he completed his goal.
Rabbi Klein completed this remarkable goal on his 93 birthday b'li ayin ha'rah. I believe this accomplishment obligates each one of us to examine our learning and to find motivation to complete specific goals in Torah learning ourselves.
In that vein, it is with great excitement that we invite you to join us in a new annual BRS program called "Achdut BaTorah." This Shavuot, the BRS family will make a siyum on all of Tanach and Shas Mishnayot. It is our dream that individuals and families, scholars and novices, children and adults, teachers and students, will sign up to study a portion of Tanach or Mishna and complete it by Shavuot.
One of the greatest qualities of Torah is the common denominator that it provides to every Jew of every age and every learning level. Every Jew has an equal portion in the Torah and it is in this spirit that we will make a siyum with the entire community. This Siyum will be celebrated with the completion of the entire Torah as a community to be held on Shavuot.
You can sign up with this form, Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim and Mishna.
We will be posting a list of all participants on a board in the lobby for all to see, be encouraged and to be inspired. We are also encouraging all families to enter their reflections, chidushim, videos or articles that they would like to include on their Parsha, Sefer, or Masechet page on the BRS Facebook page.
