Friday Night Live

Friday Night Live takes place at BRS every Friday Night at 6:00pm.
Are you looking for a fresh start and are interested in learning about the magic of the Friday evening Shabbat service, then Friday Night Live (FNL) is for you!! Join Rabbi Josh Broide at these friendly, warm and welcoming free explanatory prayer services. Each program is conducted in both Hebrew and English, and FNL provides a comfortable non-judgmental venue for those with little synagogue experience to participate in traditional synagogue setting. Discussions and questions are encouraged in this “unorthodox, traditional” service, which has been praised for its widespread appeal and congenial approach to synagogue education.

Everyone likes to show up a little early to get a chance to talk and shmooze with friends. But as soon as the six o-clock hour comes, the magic and excitement begin. We always start with a short look at what's going on in the world and follow that with the special Kabbalat Shabbat service. We use a special Siddur (prayer book) that transliterates the Hebrew in to English, so it's easy for everyone to follow along. We also hear an inspirational and practical lesson from the weekly Torah (Bible) portion and just about every week there is a special guest speaker that will join us for a few minutes. Past guest speakers have been Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks and actress Mayim Bialik. You really never know what to expect at FNL, there is always an incredible surpise waiting for you. Finally, we conclude with a small Kiddush (light fare) and some more time to make friends with each other.

FNL is located at Boca Raton Synagogue in the Senders Library. Just walk towards the main entrance and before entering look to the left and you will see a sign pointing you to the Senders Library.
